OVERVIEW: On May 7, 2018, Governor Nathan Deal signed into law House Resolution 279 which designates March 21 of every year as Single Parent Day in Georgia in combination with National Single Parent Day. The responsibility of raising children in today’s society is particularly difficult when it falls on the shoulders of a single parent. The dedication and achievement of single parents regardless of gender, cultural diversity, or economic status deserve our recognition..

“Yes You Can Be A Successful Single Parent Raising Successful Children”
DEADLINE: Monday, January 20, 2020
The National Leadership Group, Inc. and Georgia State Representative Valencia Stovall are honored and delighted to recognize and award single parents who have accomplished extraordinary achievements while raising children.
A Single Parent can be any of the following who are raising children:
Mother Father Grandparent Foster Parent Guardian Widower Divorcee
If you are nominating a Single Parent to be recognized or awarded for her/his extraordinary achievements while raising children, please review the criteria below.
CRITERIA FOR SINGLE PARENT NOMINEE
- Must be a resident of the State of Georgia
- Must be a Single Parent currently raising child/children
- Children must reside in household with Single Parent
- Single Parent should possess good ethical morals, values and character
- Single Parent should have a lifestyle free of state and federal criminal charges
- Children’s lives should be free of state and federal criminal charges
- Single Parent should have accomplished extraordinary achievements in one of the following categories:
- Public Service
- Education
- Faith Based
- Arts and Entertainment
- Business Owner
- Community Service
- Medical and Health
Please complete the Nomination Form and submit it electronically to the National Leadership Group, Inc. by Monday, January 20, 2020.
